PM10 and respirable dust measurement
Dust plays a dual role: in the working environment it is assessed against occupational exposure limits, and in ambient air against air quality standards. We measure both. In the working environment we separate total from inhalable and respirable fractions, since it is the fine particles that penetrate deepest into the lungs.

Selecting measuring points
Points derive from the process and workplace layout — we measure where employees actually breathe.
Shift measurement
Exposure is measured over a representative part of the shift, under normal process load.
Assessment
Results are compared against the binding occupational exposure limit values in Annex 1.

A report with a conclusion per point and prioritised measures — technical controls first, personal protection last.
Frequently asked questions
What is the difference between total and respirable dust?
Total dust covers all airborne particles. The respirable fraction covers the finest ones, which reach the pulmonary alveoli. That fraction is the most harmful to health, so its limit values are stricter.
Do you also measure ambient PM10?
Yes. We have PM10 equipment and use it where the permit or elaborate prescribes ambient air quality monitoring around the installation.
How long does exposure measurement take?
It must cover a representative part of the shift under normal load. A brief measurement during a quiet phase of the process does not show real exposure.
