Evacuation plans, floor plans and drills
The employer must take evacuation measures and designate the employees who will carry them out. That means two things: preparing evacuation floor plans and route maps displayed at visible points in the building, and running a drill to verify that routes, exits and the assembly point work when there are people and pressure involved.

How the process works
Building survey
We record the levels, exits and the layout of fire equipment. Where architectural drawings exist, we use them.
Preparing the plans
We produce per-level plans marking routes, exits, equipment and the assembly point, in a print-ready format.
Mounting
Plans are mounted at visible points, oriented to the viewer’s position with a "You are here" marker.
Drill and record
We run the drill, time the movement to the assembly point and produce a record of the shortcomings identified.
Frequently asked questions
How often should an evacuation drill be run?
The Occupational Safety and Health Act sets no general fixed interval. Practice is at least once a year, with a repeat after any significant change in the building layout or headcount.
Must the plan be on the wall, or is having it on file enough?
A plan that lives only in a folder does not help during a real evacuation. The plans are mounted at visible points, oriented to the viewer’s position, with a copy retained in the OSH documentation.
Can the drill be combined with fire safety training?
Yes, and it is the most efficient combination — employees walk through the evacuation procedure and practise extinguishing a fire in the same session.
