Inspection and certification of fall protection PPE to EN 365

Fall protection PPE is equipment on which someone’s life depends, and it degrades with age even when unused. EN 365 requires a detailed periodic inspection at least once a year by a competent person. The inspection is performed by our specialist certified for EN 365 PPE inspection, with a written record for every individual item.

Visual and functional examination to EN 365 — stitching, webbing, metal parts, mechanisms and fall indicators.

  3. Finding per item

Each item receives a clear verdict: fit for use, fit with a note, or withdrawn from service.

  4. Labelling and records

Serviceable equipment is labelled with the next inspection date and you receive a written record per item.

Frequently asked questions

How often must fall protection equipment be inspected?

At least once a year by a competent person, under EN 365. In addition, the user inspects it before every use, and it must be examined after any fall.

Does the equipment have a service life even when unused?

Yes. Textile components age even sitting in a cupboard. The service life is set by the manufacturer and is checked against the year of manufacture marked on the item itself.

What happens to equipment that fails inspection?

It is withdrawn from service immediately and marked so it cannot be returned to use by mistake. The report states the specific reason for each withdrawn item.

Can the inspection be combined with training?

Yes, and it is practical — employees train on their own equipment while it is being inspected. Two obligations are closed in a single visit.
